授業方法

授業概要	Objectives: Students will be better able to write (1) grammatically correct (2) complex sentences and paragraphs that are (3) spelled and punctuated correctly. Outline: In “Game” classes, students in pairs or small groups play the games and then write original sentences. In “TV show” classes, we read and watch comedy TV skits. Students memorize 4-5 minutes of a skit. The teacher moves around the classroom to explain and correct writing mistakes and listens to students’ pronunciation. Students should pay attention to the teacher’s corrections so that they can learn from their own mistakes. (Try to write sentences that are a little difficult for you. If you write too simple sentences, you will not improve.)

1	Lesson 1. *Four of a Kind Game. Give original answers to everyday questions. Write your original sentences. Show your writing to the teacher next week.
2	Lesson 2. Saturday Night Live: Cheeseburger Shop. Practice the dialogue from a comedy TV show skit.
3	Lesson 3. Saturday Night Live: Hospital Visit. Practice the dialogue from a comedy TV show skit.
4	Lesson 4. Monty Python: Argument Lesson. Practice the dialogue from a comedy TV show skit.
5	Lesson 5. Monty Python: Cheese Shop & Lion Tamer. Practice the dialogue from a comedy TV show skit.
6	Lesson 6. *Final Answer. Ask and answer questions in a quiz game. Write original questions and answers. Show your writing to the teacher next week. Decide on a skit for your performance. Rehearse your skit.
7	Lesson 7. *Have You Ever Game. Discover a pattern to things your classmates have done. Write sentences to answer the questions. Show your writing to the teacher next week. Rehearse your skit.
8	Lesson 8. *Top Ten Game. Ask and answer questions about things in categories. Write original questions. Show your writing to the teacher next week. Rehearse your skit.
9	Lesson 9. *What’s My Hobby or Sport? Describe and guess activities. Write questions that answer “yes” to describe 4 activities (10 questions for each activity). Show your writing to the teacher next week. Rehearse your skit.
10	Lesson 10. *Ladders Game. Write 10 questions with 3 choices of answers for each question. Ask and answer as you move around the board. Show your writing to the teacher next week.
11	Lesson 11. Christmas songs. Read, say, and listen.
12	Lesson 12. “2nd Look Pictures.” Find the differences in two similar pictures.
13	Lesson 13. Charades. Act out words in a gestures game.
14	Lesson 14. Meet with the teacher to perform 4-5 minutes of a TV skit and show the teacher your writing portfolio of 6 topics (marked with an asterisk * in the lesson plan above). Show your writing to the teacher in every class, not in this final check day.
15	Lesson 15. Continue meetings with the teacher. BGM movie: My Neighbor Totoro (1988) with English audio and subtitles.

注意事項等	Homework: 1 hour per week. Write your original sentences (10 hours). Practice saying your skit (5 hours).
