授業方法
授業概要

Objectives: Students will be better able to write (1) grammatically correct (2) complex sentences and paragraphs that are (3) spelled and punctuated correctly.

Outline: In “Game” classes, students in pairs or small groups play the games and then write original sentences. In “Action Picture” classes, students write sentences from dictation and memorize 4 stories. In later classes, students write a story about an interesting day. The teacher moves around the classroom to explain writing errors and listens to students’ pronunciation. Students should pay attention to the teacher’s corrections so that they can learn from their own mistakes. (Try to write a-little-difficult sentences. If you write too simple sentences, you will not improve. Challenge yourself to try to say what you want to say.) When there is extra time remaining in a class, we watch movie musical songs and read the lyrics.

Lesson 1. *Q & A Card Game. Listen for information needed to answer questions. Write your own original sentences. Show your writing to the teacher next week.

Lesson 2. *A-Z Alphabet Board Game. Write original sentences. Show your previous week’s sentences to the teacher.

Lesson 3. *Storyline Cards. Write about your childhood and school days as shown on picture cards. Show your writing to the teacher next week. Show last week’s sentences to the teacher.

Lesson 4. *Three Questions Board Game. Write original sentences for the game. Teacher checks previous week’s sentences.

Lesson 5. *Question Spiral Board Game. Write sentences using the questions. Show your writing to the teacher next week.

Lesson 6. *Action English Pictures A. Dictation. Show your previous week’s sentences to the teacher.

Lesson 7. *Action English Pictures B. Dictation. Show your sentences of last week to the teacher.

Lesson 8. Action English Pictures C. Dictation. Show the sentences you wrote last week to the teacher.

9Lesson 9. Action English Pictures D. Dictation. Each student chooses 4 of the 16 stories and memorizes them.
10Lesson 10. *Italy Cards. Write about a trip to Italy using picture cards. Show the teacher your writing next week.

Lesson 11. *Never Ending Story Card Game. Make a story about everyday events using picture cards, then write a story. Show your writing to the teacher next week. Show your previous week’s sentences to the teacher.

Lesson 12. Continue writing and improving your Never Ending story. Teacher checks students’ spelling & grammar.

Lesson 13. *What Animal Am I? Card Game. Describe animals and their environments. Write questions that answer “yes” to describe 4 animals (10 questions for each animal). Show your writing to the teacher next week.

Lesson 14. Meet with the teacher to tell 4 Action English stories and show the teacher your writing portfolio of 10 topics (marked with an asterisk * in the lesson plan above). Show your writing to the teacher in every class, not in this final check day.

15

Lesson 15. Continue meeting with the teacher.

Homework: 1 hour per week. Write your original sentences and stories (10 hours). Memorize your 4 Action English stories for the test (5 hours).
